Founded in 1996, Aumoehoku began with a passion for preserving the Australian Shepherd through thoughtful, purposeful breeding. In 2023, we proudly welcomed the Miniature American Shepherd to our program, expanding our commitment to preserving and promoting these exceptional herding breeds.
Our journey began on the beautiful islands of Hawaii and continues today in the mountains of Utah. While our location has changed, our dedication has remained constant. From island roots to mountain horizons, our vision is to preserve and improve both the Australian Shepherd and the Miniature American Shepherd by producing healthy, sound, versatile dogs with exceptional temperaments, correct structure, and the instinct and ability to excel as cherished family companions and successful competitors for generations to come.
As a small, home-based breeder, our dogs are first and foremost beloved members of our family. They are raised in our home, sharing in our everyday lives and receiving the love, attention, and socialization that help them develop into confident, well-adjusted companions.
Aumoehoku is proud to be the home of multiple Best in Show winners, as well as dogs that have excelled in a variety of performance venues while enriching the lives of their devoted families.
We are honored to have been recognized as an AKC Breeder of Merit since October 4, 2012—a reflection of our ongoing commitment to responsible breeding practices, health, temperament, and breed preservation.
Our responsibility does not end when a puppy leaves our home. We are committed to providing guidance, support, and friendship to our puppy families throughout the lifetime of every dog we breed.
